TUNNELS & FOOD TOUR

Full-day
age 12+
age 6-12
age 0-5

This Cu Chi Tunnels tour packs two of Saigon’s best experiences into a single, well-organised day. In the morning you head out of the city to walk through the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels and understand one of the most extraordinary chapters of Vietnam’s history. In the evening you swap the van for a vintage Vespa and taste the food that locals actually eat. If your days in Saigon are limited, this is how you get the history and the flavours without having to choose between them.

Why book this Cu Chi Tunnels tour and food package?

This Cu Chi Tunnels tour is built for travellers who are short on time but do not want to miss out. Instead of giving a whole day to the tunnels alone, you get the famous historical site in the morning and our signature Saigon food experience at night, all in one package with pickups, tickets and guides sorted for you.

The morning tunnels trip is run with a trusted local partner who specialises in Cu Chi, so you travel in comfort and learn from guides who know the site inside out. The evening belongs to us: our own food ride through the city, the part of the day most guests remember long after they have gone home.

It is the efficient way to do Saigon properly. One booking, one day, two experiences you will actually talk about.

Morning: step inside the Cu Chi Tunnels

Your day starts with an 8am hotel pickup in District 1, aboard a modern, air-conditioned 7-seater van for the drive out of the city. Starting early means you reach the tunnels before the heat and the crowds build, while the forest is still cool and quiet.

At the site you head underground into a hand-dug world that people once lived in for years. You will see hidden bunkers, underground kitchens and ammunition stores, and get an up-close look at the ingenious booby traps of the era. You can crawl through a stretch of the original tunnels to feel just how tight and demanding life below ground really was.

The Cu Chi Tunnels are one of Vietnam’s most significant wartime sites, and a good guide turns the visit into far more than sightseeing. Expect an honest, human account of resilience, hardship and survival, told with the respect the place deserves. Before you leave, you will taste the simple tea and freshly steamed tapioca that once sustained people here.

If you like, you can also try the on-site shooting range and fire a real AK47 or M16 (optional, bullets charged separately). By around 2pm you are back in the city with the afternoon free to rest.

Evening: taste the real Saigon by Vespa

After a light lunch and a break, the second half of your day begins, and this is where Vespa A Go Go comes into its own. You hop onto the back of a vintage Vespa and ride through the city as it lights up, guided straight to the eateries locals love rather than the tourist menus.

Across the evening you work your way through a spread of local favourites, from a bold, aromatic beef noodle soup to a hands-on street barbecue and a lively seafood feast washed down with cold drinks. Along the way you drift through a buzzing local market and soak up the easy, social rhythm of how Saigon really eats.

This evening ride is our signature Saigon Foodie Feast, included here as the perfect end to your day. If food culture is the main reason you are visiting Saigon, that tour is well worth a look on its own too.

Is this full-day tour right for you?

This Cu Chi Tunnels tour and food package suits travellers with only a day or two in the city who want to cover a lot without the stress of planning it themselves. If you like the idea of pairing real history with real food, and you would rather have everything organised in one booking, it is an easy yes.

A few honest notes. The tunnels involve some walking, heat and, if you choose, a tight underground crawl, so come prepared and feel free to skip the crawl if small spaces are not for you. The day is long, running from an early start to a late finish with a rest in between.

The package is priced as a single flat rate. For children, please contact us directly so we can advise on suitability and pricing for the tunnels portion.

Ready to see the history and taste the city in one day? Book the Cu Chi Tunnels tour and food package, and make every hour of your Saigon trip count.
